Great Little Vacuum July 24, 2010 S. Hudson (D.C. area) The Dyson Slim is terrific! I needed to get a new vacuum that I could lift and carry up and down stairs. The one I had was just more difficult to move about than I could handle. I researched various brands, "weights" and performance. The Dyson Slim fit the bill. It sucks the cat hair off the carpet like magic. I can easily switch to no brushes for the hard wood floors. I lift it and carry it up and down stairs easily. The cup is easy to use (and no bags to purchase). Love the HEPA filter. The hose is plenty long to do stairs and reach around furniture when needed. Delighted with the new purchase.

Not worth the price July 3, 2010 M. Stanaland (Washington, DC) It seems that Dyson has discontinued this model, and that's a very good thing. On day one I could tell it had less power than the cheap, 6 year old Dirt Devil that it was replacing, and it only got worse as the unit aged. At two years old it couldn't pick up dry cat litter off a tile floor. I've very happily replaced it with Hoover that cost less than half of what the Dyson Slim did. The Hoover isn't much to look at, but the construction quality is the same as the Dyson and it cleans 3 times better than the Dyson did when I first got it.
Dyson DC18 July 2, 2010 Sam (Charlotte, NC) I bought mine one new and I also purchased one used. The used one was as good condition as the new one. Great product easy to use and maintain. I would definately buy another one if I needed a third.
Nice & dependable! June 28, 2010 Miss Mewsic (West Michigan) I bought this about a year and a half ago, but it is still going strong. Never had a Dyson before and was apprehensive about the cost at first. I LOVE it! Apartment living and long haired cats have me needing something compact & strong. It's very manuvereable too. This does the job well as I can see a full cannister of stuff that you couldn't visibly see on the carpets & rugs. Using the wand with the on board tools, the hose is a little short, so it's awkward and it doesn't give the same suction as the floor vac. The only reason why it got 4 stars instead of 5.
Works well when it's not broken! March 18, 2010 Stephanie Lawton (Alabama) I'll admit we are hard on vacuums with two cats and two kids, but after paying all that money for a vacuum, I expected better quality. When it works, it works. But it breaks often -- either the hose is clogged or the pedal doesn't work when you want to use the floor mechanism, or a switch goes out and you have to hold down the button to keep it on. It's always something with this vacuum. I'm very disappointed in this after hearing all the hype about Dysons. It's also very heavy and I can't imagine anyone but those in decent shape using this. It would not be appropriate for elderly or disabled.
