Product Description This Limited Edition Dyson includes the Flat Out Tool to easily reach under furniture and appliances. Equipped with Dyson Ball technology, this upright vacuum cleaner sits on a ball for easy twisting and turning around furniture and obstacles--no more missed angles or tiresome back-and-forth vacuuming. The ball also encapsulates the machine's 11 amp motor, creating a low center of gravity for even easier maneuverability. The vacuum cleaner uses Root Cyclone technology to separate dirt from the air by centrifugal force, which ensures efficient cleaning with no clogging or loss of suction. Dyson proves no loss of suction using the IEC 60312 Cl 2.9 test standard. Effective for use on all floor types, the unit's motorized brushbar can be turned on to remove dirt and pet hair from carpets, or turned off to protect delicate rugs and floors. It also supplies a quick-draw Telescope Reach wand, which expands to offers 16 feet of reach for stairs, drapes, upholstery, and more.

dyson blueprint March 4, 2010 Jennifer Douglas (San antonio, TX USA) I bought this in November. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the length of the power cord requires moving the plug for vacuuming a few rooms. The catcher bin is small, but for me that is a positive since my family is more likely to empty it each time.
The suction is great, it runs so quietly that I can even run it during nap time with out waking 2 very easily disturbed toddlers. It goes around very smoothly and transition from vacuum to tools is smooth and easy. We love it and the best part is that it is so light weight that my 8 and 12 year olds can carry it upstairs on their own to vacuum their rooms.
I also like that it is more neutral in color.
Quality vs Quantity March 3, 2010 Sasha R. Lehocky 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this vacuum with a little apprehension. I have learned that high price does not equal high quality. Reading past reviews, I saw that people were disappointed, however I do believe that they were expecting more due to brand association and price. I have used a Kirby Legend II, the Hoover Platinum and a in home central vacuum system. Compared the the Kirby it is much lighter and easier to use, the Kirby also has to have regular belt and bag changes. The Kirby is a very powerful machine, but for it's size and weight you would expect that. Overall the Kirby was/is much more expensive but had quality you could feel. The Hover Platinum is the closest vacuum that could compare to the Dyson. The brush head and canister are larger, and the cord is longer, these points alone made me almost purchase that instead. It also has an indicator light that lets you know if the carpet in clean or dirty, a novelty item, but fun to watch. What sold me on the Dyson was the ball and the ease of maneuvering and pivoting. The house vacuum is just convenient and will spoil you. However it is very expensive and is usually installed while the house is being built. The best thing about the house vacuum is the option of having suction levers along the baseboards around the house where you please. The kitchen is a great place to have one, if there is a small spill, just flip the lever, grab a broom and sweep it in the wall. No vacuum can compare in my opinion. With that said, the Dyson is a less expensive option that is comparable in terms of convenience. I also own a Roomba, which is a lifesaver, especially when it comes to an easy daily vacuuming all around the house and leaving the deep vacuuming to once a week. If you own a pet or keep or windows open often, get a Roomba. Overall I would recommend this vacuum. It is light, effortless, convenient and good looking too. My only complaint is the plastic used, I would have thought it would have been thicker and denser, but that is what makes it so light, however I would have rather had denser plastic than a lighter vacuum.
My boyfriend's got a Dyson DC25 Blueprint and I'll never leave them. . . . . March 2, 2010 C. Saunders (Redding, CA United States) In my household we like to kick off our shoes as soon as we hit the door. So keeping the floor/carpet clean is a MUST. Matter of fact I am somewhat obsessive about it and I consider myself a vacuum snob. I've been teased about vacuuming just for fun and accused of participating in underground vacuum races. I will neither deny nor confirm those allegations.
Over the years I have had/used several different brands of vacuums. My favorites have been Miracle Mate, Kirby, and Kenmore (yes, Kenmore - it's price/performance ratio is great). My new favorite is Dyson.
My boyfriend purchased a Dyson DC25 Blueprint for his household several months ago. This past weekend he finally brought it over for me to try it out.
It's SOOOOO easy to use - maneuverability, cleaning/maintenance, hand tools, etc. It cleans extremely well and the low profile head is great for under couches, tables and such. The ball makes it fun to round corners. To clean the brush bar it only takes a twist and turn to snap it right out for easy cleaning. The hand tool access is quick and easy also - everything clicks and snaps and turns out then back into place.
After cleaning my entire house I have only 2 minor complaints. The cord is not very long so you have to switch outlets from area to area. To empty the canister you press a button and the bottom drops down - great for emptying into garbage - BUT the rubber gasket around the bottom piece gets dusty/dirty and then it doesn't 'snap' closed as it should. I wiped it with a soft cloth, then it snapped right down.
Overall it's an excellent vacuum. My boyfriend has two 2 sons that use it like a shopvac and it's held up just fine. Now the only problem I have is that he wants to take it back home. I'm going to suggest we work out a joint custody agreement! :D
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DYSON!! February 26, 2010 Free Thinker (Somewhere over the Rainbow, USA) This is my first Dyson after going through 3 $200+ Hoovers in the past year. We have 3 pets and vacuum all the time. I absolutely love this vacuum and should have spent the money the in the first place on it than wear out 3 junky vacuum cleaners that won't last. I will never buy anything buy Dyson again.
Great vacuum for dog hair, but hose could be better. February 17, 2010 Fernando (san diego, california) FYI I have mostly marble floors and I bought this vacuum because I have 3 dogs, one of them a black lab leaves hair everywhere. I have been using it for about a month now and for what I bought it it is great. So far I have not noticed it scratch the marble, but I never have the brushes on I always turn them on. As far as using it on sofas and beds it works awesome. I tend to just put the vacuum on the sofa or bed without using the hose. The hose is good, but it is weird to use it in close spaces I would say this is a draw back. However, when I do use the hose on the sofas the attachment works AWESOME. I would caution that when using the hose on pillows it is difficult because the suction is powerful and using the hose is awkward so holding the pillow down is difficult. I use a hand held for this. I have not used the animal attachment that is made for pets and i feel it might work better on pillows, but when the pillow is close to you using the hose is not efficient. Apart from that I think the vacuum is worth it; it easily saves me 20-30 minutes whenever I clean up instead of sweeping all of the hair.
